Derby Proud Photo Contest Winners

The City of Derby held a Derby Proud Photo Contest this spring and now it’s time to announce the winners. View the photos at DerbyKS.com/DerbyProud

In the 13 and under category Riley Herring is our winner with Learning in Lockers. Herring, age 12, is a student at Derby North Middle School. She contributes photos to the school year book and enjoys taking photos of friends and family. She is from Derby and loves Derby. Herring will get a personal tour with the police or fire chief of their respective facility. 

In the 14 to 17 category Barrett Gagne is our winner with Lost in Reflection. Gagne, age 17, is homeschooled. The photo features his Goldendoodle, Turtle. He took up photography about a year ago and it has become a serious hobby. Gagne will receive a $50 gift card to his favorite local business.

In our 18 and over category Patrick Jarchow is our winner with Eagle on the Pond, taken at High Park. Jarchow is a Derby native, and enjoys photography in his spare time. He will receive a weeknight rental at the Lodge at Warren Riverview Park.

Winners will also receive a Derby Proud prize pack with a t-shirt, bag and stickers, will be featured in the July Derby News and a framed print of their photograph will be hung at City Hall.

“We want to thank all of our participants for their photo submissions,” said Randy White, Mayor. “It has been fun to see the beautiful photos of our community and share those with others.”
