The Communications Division works under the direction of the City Manager's office and serves as the point of contact for communication and marketing activities citywide.

The division coordinates Derby's brand and image, keeps the community informed, handles media calls/interviews, and promotes all aspects of quality of life in the community.

Responsibilities

Derby BBQ Festival

This division also plans and organizes the annual Smoke on the Plains BBQ and Music Fest. The event includes a pro and backyard competition, People's Choice Contest, live music, beer garden, cornhole tournament, food trucks, kids activities and more.
